The Prodigy’s set at Download was one of the most anticipated performances on the second stage throughout the whole festival, with artists and press talking about it constantly throughout the day.

By the time 8.30pm came, there was no space left around the second stage, as people forfeited seeing the King of Weird, Marilyn Manson to have a look at what the Firestarters had to offer a rock concert.

To be honest, I was a little baffled as to why they were playing, because I would see them more of a drug-fuelled dance music act than a leather-clad rock band, but for some reason the fans seemed to love it and went crazy for them from start to finish.

Playing songs from their new album, Invaders Must Die, as well as a handful of the old favourites, Keith Flint, in his usual punk inspired get up bumbled his way around the stage like he had some kind of ants in his trendy pants.

The people who trekked over here or decided to ditch Manson after he started acting like a complete diva during his set on the main stage were lucky enough to see an act that wanted to be here, rather than wanted to make sure they looked pretty, like Marylin Manson did, and the public left that set with a warm fuzzy feeling in the bellies.
