Fightstar were epic, as per usual, and proving they really deserved a place on the second stage at this year’s Download Festival with a rather incredible 40 minute set.
Charlie Simpson’s vocals had no problem reaching out over the thousands of fans crammed onto the hillside that sloped in front of the stage as he belted out hits from their new album Be Human, as well as a couple of old favourites for good measure.
Alex Westaway, Dan Haigh and drummer Omar Abidi spent the set feeding off the energy being hurled towards them as the crowd sang back line after line, and lapped up every moment of their set.
Proving that Fightstar are really a band to be reckoned with, I think you’d be hard pushed to find a man with such an enigmatic voice as Charlie Simpson.
