Fred Durst, wow, what more can you say about this band other than the award for the best outfit at Download 2009 had to go to Wes Borland for sweating it out in his usual outrageous outfits despite the boiling hot heat.
When I was watching these guys, I was kind of in awe that I was actually gazing upon the legend that is Fred Durst, although the lack of the log on the red hat propped upon his head kind of made me wonder if it was actually him, or just some bloke who looked and sounded pretty similar…
They of course littered their hour-long set with all of their biggest hits as well as the usual ‘wannabe gangsta’ moves and the attitude of true musical heroes. Even dragging up two member of the audience to join them on stage for a song after watching them being crushed against the barrier, singing along to every word.
I always wonder why people put themselves through such pain to see bands this close, but if it means I can get my hands on Fred Durst, then direct me to the next gig!
