You Me At Six @ Download Festival 2009

You Me At Six surprised me when I found out they were only playing a support slot on the second stage, because with the amount of press they’ve been getting from teeny-bopper magazine Kerrang! You would yhave thought they’d have found themselves on the man stage, or at least headlining one of the smaller ones.

Gaining colossal coverage over the past twelve months, Josh Franceschi and his friends are one of the great success stories of the year, going from relatively unknown MySpace band to UK phenomenon in just a few months.

Obviously, with this success has come a swagger that transfers into their live shows, these boys know they’re good, and they know they’re a clan not to be crossed at the moment, and their hoards of devout followers were out in force on Saturday, shrugging off Pendulum to check out the cool kids at school’s new favourite band.

I of course, was checking out Pendulum, but FemaleFirst’s photographer was on hand to snap up all the action, as well as listen intently as the rallied off song after song from their album, Take Off Your Colours, with the Radio One play listed hit, Save It For The Bedroom getting an awesome crowd reaction.
