After the interview with Buckcherry vocalist Josh went down like a lead balloon, I was a little dubious to see what their set to the second stage had in store… taking Crazy Bitch off as my mobile ringtone was step number one, and trekking up to the second stage to miss the start of Whitesnake’s set had to be mission number two.

To be honest, I didn’t really want to check out the set after Josh obviously hadn’t wanted to speak to FemaleFirst earlier that day, as I don’t really think anyone is ‘too famous’ to bother being nice to journalists, especially when many of the far more successful acts of the weekend managed to be nice and seem interested in the interviewers chatting to them.

But the set itself was pretty tight, although from where I was perched on the hill the sound didn’t sound all that great, but I guess part of that is because I was about 500 metres from the stage itself and there was a group of topless, drunk blokes warbling the lyrics about a metre in front of me… aah, only in Britain.

Although they had a fairly rocky time during 2002, they seem to have come together as a band far stronger than ever, and any loyal fans would have enjoyed the show from start to finish, whilst, after they’d been rude earlier in the day, I couldn’t help but leave with a bitter feeling, even after they closed with Crazy Bitch… one of my favourite drunken anthems.
