Dragonforce convinced me to miss a band I’d been wanting to check out after winning me over in our interview earlier in the day, and to say I only really know the odd song by them, their 50 minute set didn’t leave me bored for one second.
Choosing to stay on my own to check out their set whilst my friends went off to the various stages, the guys pulled out all the stops (and their very long hair) to wow the crowds in Donnington Park as the sun started to cool off over the festival.
Playing a wide range of songs from their four albums, these British power metallers made us Brits proud as the last UK band of the day on the main stage, despite the fact that they are all actually from various cities across the globe.
As was to be expected, their most famous single Through the Fire and Flames was the biggest hit of their set, with the whole of the crowd coming to life and belting the lyrics back up to ZP Theart and friends on the stage.
I caught up with the band over the course of the weekend to chat about how they were enjoying the festival and what we can expect from them in the coming months, be sure to check out our interview later this week.
