The Blackout are a band I’ve grown pretty fond of over the past month, and as their new album, The Best In Town has just hit the shelves, it was a great honour to see them playing the main stage on Friday afternoon, something they’ve worked so hard for and was well deserved.
What’s mote, the lucky little foxes got to play twice over the weekend, on the main stage on Friday, and then filling in for the Ghost Of A Thousand as headliners on the Fourth Stage on Saturday… now if that isn’t getting your money’s worth, I don’t know what is.
Playing a mixture of old and new songs, Sean Smith and Gavin Butler did a wonderful song of dominating the massive expanse of field in front of the main stage with their lovely Welsh vocals.
I have to admit, I have a bit of a thing for the Welsh accent at the moment, it used to be the Scottish blokes that I loves, but I’m totally into the Welsh now, so clearly they were going to be a winner for me.
Just as I was heading over to check out A Day To Remember, I heard them staring to blast out a cover of a band that were playing later that day, and it kind of left me with a puzzled look, like um, should they really be attempting this… but it was too late, I was gone before they had finished as I had Neil Westfall in my sights!
I caught up with the band after their gig to talk about their new album and how they felt about playing twice over the course of the weekend, so keep your eyes out for my chat with the lads coming later this week!
