I know these guys, they are friends of ours. We got to know them as they were some of the few musicians kicking around the highland music scene at the same time as us in the early naughties. He is from the picturesque and remote Isle of Lewis which has had knack of giving birth too many great musicians of late.
Now to the music, it is a wistful blend of melodic, melancholic acoustic musings which conjure images of late summer nights and good times past, well, for me at least. This is actually quite a treat as I have been hearing of their impending release but have yet to hear it.
If you are a fan of Ed Hardcourt and like minded acoustic folk you will definitely like this. I wouldn’t necessarily put it on before a banging night out but maybe if I was entertaining a lady friend or other such romantic occasions… lol… that probably wasn’t necessary to mention.
So, to summarize, it’s really good! If you like Scooter you won’t like this, but if you like Scooter there is something fundamentally wrong with you and you shouldn’t own a stereo. Good job Colin mate, I’m proud of you son!
