French rocker Johnny Hallyday’s corrective surgery to treat complications following a botched back operation has been successful and he’s currently in recovery.
The 66 year old went under the knife in Paris, France last month to repair a slipped disc.
But he experienced complications and developed an infection and was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital earlier this week, where doctors advised him the lesions from his French operation "required reparative surgery", his representative reveals.
Hallyday, real name Jean-Philippe Smet, is now in recovery and his spokesperson insists the situation is "under control".
The singer is in L.A. for his Route 66 tour, which he claims will be his last.
His health scare is the latest concern for the veteran star - he was hospitalised for nine days in August for medical check-ups at his insurers' request, after a fall on a yacht in July.
