French Rock has suffered a set-back as iconic singer/songwriter Johnny Hallyday was admitted to hospital after he developed an infection following an operation.
The veteran musician, real name Jean-Philippe Smet, underwent surgery in Paris, France last month to correct a slipped disc in his back.
But the 66 year old suffered post-operative complications and is now being monitored at a hospital in Los Angeles, according to his spokesperson.
It follows a series of health concerns for Hallyday - he was hospitalized for nine days in August for medical check-ups at his insurers' request, after a fall on a yacht in July.
He also scrapped a concert on Reunion island in September due to the rapid spread of swine flu across the Indian Ocean territory.
