The return date for Peaky Blinders has been confirmed in spectacular style, as a mural of Thomas Shelby - played by Cillian Murphy - was unveiled in Birmingham in the early hours of this morning (February 15th, 2022).
Created by street artist Akse, the talent behind the famous portrait of Marcus Rashford in 2021, the image looms impressively over the Old Crown in Digbeth, after seven days of hard work.
Commissioned by the BBC to celebrate the start of the final series of Peaky Blinders, the mural also revealed the long-awaited return date for the show - it will debut on Sunday February 27th, 2022 at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Coming in at 12.71m high, it's a piece of art that will undoubtedly stick with all those who spot it, celebrating a BAFTA award-winning drama that has become a global phenomenon.
With millions of viewers across the world enchanted by the story of the notorious Shelby family and their rise to power, against the backdrop of a working class, post-First World War Birmingham, we're sure record numbers will be tuning in to see how this story reaches its conclusion.
Following the untimely passing of Helen McCrory, it was confirmed that the actress would not be appearing in the show's final series as Polly Gray.
Despite not filming any scenes however, Murphy has said that she will be "very present" in the final episodes.
Peaky Blinders returns to screens on February 27th, 2022, airing on BBC One and available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
