With 2022 now in full swing, we’re taking a look at some of the biggest and best television shows that are making a comeback this year, following a successful first season or indeed, run of seasons!
Here are seven TV shows returning in 2022 we cannot wait to watch…
Euphoria - Season 2 - Begins January 10th on Sky Atlantic
After a thrilling and frankly shocking debut season, Euphoria is making its return to Sky Atlantic in just a few days, dropping at the same time it'll come out in the United States.
An incredible ensemble cast comes together to bring the Sam Levinson-created series to life, including Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.
Killing Eve - Season 4 - Expected February 28th on the BBC
Though the official UK premiere date for the fourth and final season of Killing Eve hasn’t been announced just yet, we’re expecting it will debut on BBC iPlayer from February 28th, just a day after its debut in America.
Not much has been revealed when it comes to the plot of this new season, but after we saw Jodie Comer’s Villanelle and Sandra Oh’s Eve walking off in opposite directions at the conclusion of Season 3, we can assume they’ll be coming back into one another’s lives with force, ferocity and of course, a whole lot of chaotic drama.
Outlander - Season 6 - Begins March 6th on Starzplay
Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan make their return to the screen as Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser respectively, as they navigate the challenges of life in colonial America when Outlander makes its return.
This New World may look attractive to some, but the pair will quickly realise that their life isn't going to get any easier during this time of political upheaval, as the region shifts towards Revolution.
Will Claire and Jamie be able to protect their home from both external forces and the community within their care, or will the foundations they've begun to lay for the rest of their lives be immediately uprooted?
Bridgerton - Season 2 - Released March 25th on Netflix
After an incredible debut, Bridgerton is making a comeback with a story that will focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his relationship with two sisters who are arriving from India - Kate (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) - following his devastating heartbreak.
What has been revealed is that Anthony will fall for Kate, despite being engaged to her sister Edwina, causing a dramatic chain of events as their forbidden romance threatens to boil over the surface…
Peaky Blinders - Season 6 - Release date TBA on the BBC
Two years on from the dramatic conclusion of Season 5, Peaky Blinders will finally make its long-anticipated return to the small screen with a final outing that sees the UK inching towards confrontation of the Nazis, with the world on the brink of the Second World War.
Having failed to assassinate fascist politician Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin), Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) will be forced to go up against him once more. Tom Hardy's Alfie Solomons also returns, alongside Anya Taylor Joy as Gina Gray and Finn Cole as Gina's husband Michael, with Sophie Rundle as Ada Thorne and Harry Kirton as Finn Shelby.
Happy Valley - Season 3 - Release date TBA on the BBC
BAFTA-winning British crime drama Happy Valley will officially be making a return this year, for a third and final outing in which Sarah Lancashire, Siobhan Finneran and James Norton will all be reprising their roles.
With Police Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Lancashire) now on the verge of retirement, she faces one last personal struggle that trickles into her professional life when the discovery of a gangland murder victim leads her back to the criminal Tommy Lee Royce (Norton).
As the guardian of her grandson Ryan, who is now 16, the youngster is beginning to come up with his own ideas about the relationship he wants to have with his father, Royce, but Catherine is still willing to do whatever it takes to ensure he has nothing to do with her loved ones.
Stranger Things - Season 4 - Release date TBA on Netflix
The highly-anticipated Netflix original series Stranger Things is expected to make its return at some point in mid-2022, as the residents of fictional town Hawkins in Indiana come to terms with the tragedies that took place during the explosive third season.
Creators are of course keeping their cards close to their chest when it comes to revealing specific details about the narrative we’ll witness in this new batch of episodes, but it can be assumed that Hopper (David Harbour) will be featured heavily following his disappearance, as well as the children on which the series revolves around, of course. Bring it on!
