The 'Hollyoaks' actor and his partner Carl Hyland have two-year-old twins Phoebe and Chase together, and the soap star admitted he has noticed people staring when they are out shopping or in a restaurant.

The loved up couple appeared on ITV's 'Loose Women' on Wednesday (16.10.19) and when they were asked if they notice looks from strangers because they are a same-sex couple with kids, Kieron responded: "Massively. When you're walking down the street and you've got a double buggy and it's twins, people are like, 'Oh there's twins!'

"Then they'll be like 'Oh, there's two dads pushing twins' - and then 'oh there's a guy off the telly.' So it's a triple whammy of looks off people. Some people look - not down on you, but patronising?"

Meanwhile, the pair - who had their children via a surrogate mother two years ago - opened up on how they were keen to ensure they had a genuine "emotional connection" with their surrogate's family, and they still see them on the twins' birthday.

Carl added: "We always wanted to make sure that we had that emotional connection, not just obviously with our children that she's providing, but with her and her family as well. And we did, we got on with her children, her husband as well. It was a nice connection to have beforehand."

Kieron explained that it felt like "third time lucky" for the proud parents after they endured two unsuccessful attempts to have children.

He said: "It was third time lucky. We used a surrogacy centre ... We were paired up with a family - a husband, a wife and their kids - and they wanted us,we wanted them. And then we started the journey, and third time lucky, it was."
