'Hollyoaks' fans have been left outraged and devastated after character Sid Sumner was stabbed and left for dead.
The character - who is played by Billy Price - was left battling for his life last night (02.03.21) after he was attacked by drug lord Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahony), and several fans of the Channel 4 soap have pleaded with the show not to bump off the teen.
A fan posted on Instagram: "He can’t be dead. Sid is one of the best characters! HES BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH. Let him come out of this!!! Please hollyoaks. (sic)"
One wrote: "YOUVE KILLED OFF THE ONLY DECENT TEEN ON HOLLYOAKS (sic)"
Another posted: "Seriously I don’t get it! Why couldn’t Sid just stay home with Ste while Peri goes to the police station with the evidence instead? How would Victor know that? Who writes Hollyoaks story lines?!!! The level of stupidity in how they acted was just hard to watch lol (sic)"
Another shared: "If he died I'm never watching it again"
Billy promised this week that the "best" is "yet to come" from the soap's County Lines story, as he opened up on his character's involvement in the plot to bring down drug boss Victor with the help of Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan).
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The best bit of the County Lines storyline is yet to come ... the finale.
"You can expect a lot of action, tense moments and a pick and mix of emotions.
"Sid is ready to risk it all to save the people he loves. He is the cause of all this hurt so he wants to be the one to take it all away... whatever it takes.
"Sid is terrified, but he knows he just has to get the memory stick to the police and then that’s it.
"He is so rushed and determined that he bins off his crutches in order to get it done. Nothing matters until Victor has been taken down ... not even his recent amputation."
