Jo Joyner is "totally thrilled" 'Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators' is returning for a second series.
The former 'EastEnders' star was "blown away" by the fan reaction to the BBC daytime show, which tells the story of Stratford-upon-Avon private detectives Lu Shakespeare (Jo) and Frank Hathaway (Mark Benton) investigating the goings on in rural Warwickshire, and the 40-year-old star cannot wait to reprise her role.
She said: "I'm totally thrilled to have the chance to visit Lu, Frank and Sebastian again in the beautiful surroundings of the Warwickshire countryside.
"We were really blown away by the support the first series garnered and we can't wait to see what they get up to next."
Former 'Waterloo Road' star Mark, 52, added: "I'm so thrilled to be making the show again. The reaction was phenomenal and hopefully series two will be even better. Can't wait."
The second series will be set and filmed in Stratford once again and will start filming in September 2018.
The first season averaged 2.11 million viewers and is the most watched BBC Daytime series on catch up to date, with more than two million iPlayer requests so far.
Jo recently admitted she had received a bigger social media response to the programme than when she reprises her 'EastEnders' role as Tanya Cross.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I've had a bigger response on Twitter than I ever have for nipping back to 'EastEnders'.
"A new audience of people who are around and watching daytime stuff have been watching, or, lovely for us, the snow happened, so people who wouldn't normally be watching TV in that time of the day put it on iPlayer and caught up with it because they were snowed in.
"So everything was in our favour."
