The 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' champion - who took on toilet cleaning duties during his time in the jungle - was on hand to cut the green and white ribbon to unveil some newly refurbished public loos in Dorset.

He appeared at the event alongside businessman Geoff Thompson as the pair officially opened the bathroom, which has been closed for the last five years.

A plaque was also revealed, which reads: "These facilities were opened by Harry Redknapp 'King of the Jungle' July 2019"

The 72-year-old football manager had offered to clean the toilets during his time on the ITV reality show because he doesn't have a sense of smell.

Harry lost the ability to pick up odours after a road accident in Italy 18 years ago - which killed Bournemouth managing director Brian Tiler and three young Italians - when his minibus collided with a car.

In his 2013 autobiography 'Always Managing', Harry - who has "no memory" of the incident - wrote: "I woke up in hospital.

"I had fractured my skull and many other bones, and suffered a horrific gash to my leg.

"I don't think my life was ever in danger but I have never regained my sense of smell, not a complete disadvantage in some dressing rooms."

Although Harry won the hearts of the nation to be crowned King of the Jungle last year, he recently admitted he actually almost turned down the show.

He explained: "It was a great experience for me. I'm glad I done it. I nearly didn't do it. Right late on, I was sort of still not sure I was going to go ahead with it, and I did it.

"One or two friends of mine said, 'Harry, it's a great experience for you at your age. You know, go and do it.' Yeah, I've never seen the show. I didn't know what to expect, but I went into it, and I'm really pleased I did it, yeah."
