Craig Charles has been struggling to breathe after contracting coronavirus.
The 57-year-old actor-and-DJ is thankful he's managed to avoid being hospitalised and is self isolating at home, but admitted he's not been feeling very well after testing positive for the virus.
He wrote on Twitter: "Okay guys I don’t want to alarm, but I've caught the Covid.
"Breathing is a bit laboured which is a worry, but I’ve got an oxymonitor so so far no hospital.
"Starting to feel a bit better but have to isolate, Sorry to let everyone down. Back soon.(sic)".
The former 'Coronation Street' actor admitted he's thankful he's been fully vaccinated as he's sure he'd have been much worse without the jabs.
Responding to a fan who asked if he'd had it before because he'd missed 'The Gadget Show' due to isolation, he replied: "That was because a daughters boyfriend got it on holiday and we were in Barbados so it sugared the pill somewhat. Although it was the rainy season so it was a bit like Manchester with mosquitoes.if it feels like this with 2 jabs I can’t imagine what it’s like with none."
In July, the 'Red Dwarf' star fulfilled a career ambition when it was announced he'd be hosting new Channel 4 quiz show 'Moneybags', which will challenge contestants with a series of questions with the answers adorned on bags that pass along a conveyor belt in front of them.
Right answers can result in the competitors winning anything from £1,000 to £100,000 but if you pick a wrong bag and you could lose everything. Every week a massive £1 million will pass down the conveyor belt for players to grab.
Speaking about the series, Craig said: "I’ve always wanted to host a quiz show but this is the first one that’s felt perfect for me. With a million pounds at stake each week you never know what’s going to happen. I’m looking forward to having fun with our contestants as they make lifechanging decisions.”
