Former Law & Order star Fred Thompson's bid to become the next U.S. President have been dealt a huge blow - one of his advisors has a drug record.Newspaper The Washington Post has discovered Philip Martin, the man the Republican politician hired to help front his fundraising campaign, has a criminal record for dealing drugs.Thompson has been using businessman Martin's private jet as his leading mode of transport on his political campaign.The Post has unearthed details of a drug bust in 1979, which led to Martin pleading guilty to selling marijuana.Thompson's communications director, Todd Harris, insists the presidential hopeful didn't know anything about Martin's criminal past.Harris says, "There's not a campaign in the world that has the ability to research every one of its supporters going back more than 20 years".
