Here at FemaleFirst we love a good old award ceremony, and this year’s MOBO’s have left us screaming with delight as our favourite urban music acts, Tinchy Stryder, Dizzee Rascal, N-Dubz and Chipmunk are amongst the most nominates.
Leading the way this year is 2008’s Best Newcomer, Chipmunk, who has bagged himself a whopping four nominations as Best UK Act, Best Hip Hop Act, Best Video and Best Song for the top ten single Diamond Rings.
However, it’s our British blood which dominated the Best Newcomer shortlist, with X Factor finalists Alexandra Burke and JLS battling it out with Eurovision contestant and winner of reality show, Making Your Mind Up, Jade Ewen.
The big guns are out for the Best International Act award though, with Jay Z going head to head with his wife Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Keri Hilson.
Winners will be revealed at a ceremony in Glasgow, on 30 September, which is the first time in 14 years that the urban music awards have left London. The full list of nominations is below.
