The Longsands delivered a terrific album last year in the form of Meet Me In Spanish City and they are back with their latest single from the album Little Britain.
Little Britain is one of the best tracks on the album as it is a powerful and yet incredibly melodic song that shows off Trevor Cox’s vocals at their very best.
There is a gritty edge, almost a growl, to Cox’s voice on this track that gives the song that extra power and it is one of the stand out elements of this track.
His vocal is brought to life even more by the anthemic guitars that really do drives Little Britain forward with a real intensity.
Little Britain is an emotive and heartfelt track that delivers a political message as well as being incredibly catchy.
An Affair In Manchester is the B-side to this single and this is another great track from The Longsands.
The first half of the song is acoustic before it cresendos into another powerful indie track.
The Longsands really do know how to tell a story and paint a picture with their music and both songs do exactly that. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for them.
