Alex is adamant that the band HAVE to listen to this song as he is clearly an uber-fan of the tranquil sounds of Madeleine Peyroux.
“She has been around for a while” he says; “ I bought her latest album a few months ago and I was memorized about how she creates such an atmosphere with her voice. She’s so fantastic with her recording”
From an artistic point of view Vagabond think she’s quite amazing. Modest, un-pretentious, whilst totally song and lyric based whilst maintaining an old sounding voice like it’s something from many years ago; this making her appear as a bit of story teller.
Luke thinks that the single proves that you don’t need lots of extra things on a record to make it sound good, sometimes the bare minimum can do
Unconvinced is Steve, who sits in the corner looking slightly bemused; “I can appreciate why she’s good but it’s not really my vibe.” He says; “The song sounds great but I wouldn’t choose to listen to it. I might listen to it if I was trying to fall asleep.”
The band agree that it works as listening or background music because her lyrics are beautiful but you can have a conversation whilst listening to it. An of course, it would certainly set a mood if you were having a romantic evening!
