No music takeover would be the same without a critical look at the singles that Ben’s Brother will be tacking during next week’s chart battle, so what does Jamie Hartman think of his musical rivals?
Pink - Funhouse
DEFINITELY massively catchy and based around the simplest of ideas - but that's all you need really for a pop song.
It's infectious - 5 stars on Youtube... might not be into buying it myself but it's definitely a hit in the big wide world
Tinchy Stryder - Never Leave You
Umm..Well... it's pop. It's the last thing I'd ever buy - just because it doesn't have anything intelligent or soulful about it at all.
I know these guys are popular - but as a writer and someone who values real originality and invention - to me this is just pop production with no idea. In all senses.
And yes it will go to number 1. But no-one will remember it even in a years time, let alone 25 years.
Sorry!
Alina - When You Leave (Numa Numa)
Utter utter rubbish cover of what was a classic original Eastern European pop song, and one of the most viewed youtube clips of all time.
The original Numa Numa, was a male vocal, not a silly glamour girl in a bodice.
The guy singing along in the youtube clip inspired our Stuttering video.
Do yourselves a favour - don't let them get away with this obvious attempt at cashing in..and find the original.
