Despicable Me 3 has been given the green light, the bad news is it won't be released until 2017.
Despicable Me 2 was a box office smash when it was released last summer and now a third film is in the pipeline.
The third film in the franchise is set to hit the big screen June 30, 2017.
We were introduced to Gru and the minions for the first time back in 2010, and went on to gross in excess of $542 million.
However, Despicable Me 2 was an even bigger hit last year as it took over $935 million at the global box office; which was the second highest grossing movie of the year.
Meanwhile, a 'Despicable Me' spin-off is already in the works called 'Minions'.
Starring Sandra Bullock, the movie will be centred around the history of the yellow creatures and follow their journey in the 1960s to find a new evil master.
Universal also announced two new releases for the coming years, 'Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas' for November 17, 2017, and an untitled Illumination Entertainment project for December 21, 2016.
