Despicable Me 2 has made it two weeks at the top of the U.S. box office as it held off the challenge from comedy Grown Ups 2 and blockbuster Pacific Rim.
The movie took a further $44.8 million to remain in the #1 spot for s second week. It has taken in excess of $472 million and is on course to be one of the biggest films of the year.
Grown Ups came close to toppling the animation movie but with $42.5 it has to settle for second.
There has been a lot of hype around Pacific Rim but the movie failed to really challenge from the top spot, opening at three.
The movie marks the return of Guillermo Del Toro to the director's chair and took $38.3 million in its opening weekend.
The Heat fell a single place to four, while The Lone Ranger was a three place faller at five.
Former number one Monsters University fell out of the top five this week as it dropped two places to number six.
World War Z and White House Down were both down two places as they ended the weekend at seven and eight.
Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain was down one at nine while Man of Steel was another three place faller at ten.
