Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will be heading to the big screen in the summer of 2014, and the first teaser poster for the movie has been revealed.
Dawn of the Apes is the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which was released to huge success back in 2011.
It is all change in the director's chair time around as Matt Reeves takes over from Rupert Wyatt.
A fantastic cast has been assembled as Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell and Kodi Smith-McPhee are all set to star.
The movie will also see Andy Serkis return to the role of ape Caesar: he really did give a terrific motion capture performance in the first movie.
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier.
They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was one of the big surprises of 2011, and I am expecting Dawn of the Planet of the Apes to really deliver next summer.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is released 17th July 2014.
