Gareth Pugh will show during Paris Fashion Week instead of his usual London slot next season after winning a major prize.
The British designer, who has shown his collections in London since 2005, won the prestigious ANDAM Fashion Award which includes 150,000 Euros of funding.
This financial boost will help Pugh develop his label further to compete with the top names- hence the move to Paris.
"Showing at London Fashion Week has been amazing and my thanks go out to everyone who has supported me. Now, to be able to enjoy the international platform of Paris will propel my business even further," said Pugh to the telegraph.
Although this is great news for the designer and shows off the great talents of the British fashion industry, it will be a huge loss to London Fashion Week as yet another homegrown designer flies the nest.
Brits John Galliano, Hussein Chalayan and Alexander McQueen are among those who swapped London for foreign shores in the past and have since made it big on the international scene.
