Peacocks shopping figures are up
Fashion chain Peacocks have announced record sales this year, thanks to its credit crunch friendly prices.
The high-street store also revealed that its online sales had seen a huge increase of 108% over the past year.
This latest news comes as officials today announced we are officially in the midst of a recession.
Peacocks, along with Primark and New Look seem to have defied the economic gloom and announced profits in the run up to Christmas.
Tim Bettley, the managing director of the store said: "Our customers are showing an increased confidence in shopping online," reports Marie Claire.
"The growth in our online sales is encouraging, supporting predictions that e-commerce will experience further growth in 2009. In support of this trend, we are committed to developing and expanding our online range."
