Pleshette married fellow actor Poston on 11th May 2001.

Poston was a recurring guest on the TV show in which she starred; The Bob Newhart Show in the 1970s and later become a permanent character.
It was rumoured that the pair had been romantically involved long before the Newhart show days- in the 1950s when they acted alongside each other in a Broadway play- ‘Golden Fleecing’.
In the 40 years that followed, they both married other people but stayed good friends.
When they were both widowed, they came back together and married each other.
They were husband and wife until he died of respiratory failure in Los Angeles on 30th April 2007. She died in 2008 of the same cause and they are now buried together at Hillside Memorial Park, Los Angeles, California.
