The Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has spoken about the second season of The Flash, saying "a lot of it is going to be the same", so that fans don't worry about it becoming too different. Despite that, he promises "seismic changes" to the landscape including to the "city and to the villains" with some "new faces in S.T.A.R. Labs".

He adds that it's "always been our desire to have Wally West on the show and we'll just have to see how that plays out."

The Scarlet Speedster himself Grant Gustin gave a tease about the second season, saying: "In the second episode Barry discovers a new aspect of his powers involving lightning, and it's very, very cool. I'm excited about it."

Candice Patton also spoke about her character Iris potentially time-travelling; "I know about the speed force suit. I want it, I want it, I want it. Geoff Johns, I want it! It would be really cool. I don't know if we'll ever get to that."

Given a tease of Killer Frost in the season one finale, Danielle Panabaker says she still doesn't "know when it's going to happen" (Caitlin Snow's transformation), "but obviously I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's sooner rather than later."

"We know from the finale that Cisco was affected by the particle accelerator blast too and just how he's been affected and what the challenges and dangers of that are, are definitely part of the ongoing storyline in season two," Kreisberg says of Ramon, who will be evolving into the Vibe character at some point.

Actor Carlos Valdes who plays Cisco says he did read Vibe comic books before picking up the role, and said he was "really thrilled". "I could only hope that Cisco would become a superhero and I still don't really know!"

The Flash season two premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 7/8 central on The CW.
