Since 1997, four kids by the name of Stan, Kenny, Kyle and Cartman have kept teenagers and adults alike laughing with their hilarious and often foul antics in the small town of South Park.
'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' hit the big screen in 1999 as a musical comedy film and has been hailed as one of the greatest comedy movies of all time.
With only minor changes being made to the simple animation in the years passed, it's clear that 'South Park' is a show made for the fans and doesn't have to change what's clearly working just fine.
That isn't to say the show doesn't keep up with current events, often cutting close to the bone with world issues being commentated on in profane but often very clever ways.
Celebrity guests have made many appearances with the likes of George Clooney and Eric Idle lending their voices to the show.
Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have done what many
fail to do in maintaining a relevance on television in a continuing series that shows absolutely no signs of stopping or slowing down, with a sixth video game based on the series - 'South Park: The Stick Of Truth' - slated for release later this year.
Without 'South Park', there probably wouldn't be shows such as 'Family Guy' and 'American Dad', and so we owe a lot to it as one of the first black comedies to really take-off.
South Park Season 1 starts Wednesday October 2 at 10pm on Comedy Central.
