Ben Hardy has quit his role as Peter Beale in BBC One soap EastEnders.
The actor is to leave at the end of his current contract, though it's not yet been revealed just when that will be.
Ben first appeared in the Square as Peter in June 2013, taking over the role from Thomas Law who starred in it from 2006 until 2010.
Peter's said to have been staying in Devon with friends before his Walford return, and has experienced heartbreak since the murder of twin sister Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater).
While peter has been suggested as a possible suspect in the case, it remains unclear and his departure doesn't necessarily confirm his guilt.
Ben isn't the only star to be leaving the show, with Sam Strike also confirming last week he's stepping down from the soap after just under a year in the role of Johnny Carter
