Anne Kirkbride was said to be planning her return to Coronation Street just three days before she died.
Playing Deirdre Barlow on the ITV soap for over four decades, the late actress sadly passed away on Monday, January 19 after taking three months off work.
Producer of the show Stuart Blackburn has now revealed of how she was speaking of making her return on Friday, January 16, just before her condition deteriorated.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Stuart said: "She seemed so happy and she was talking about and really excited about coming back to work. She's so missed already."
Close friend and on-screen husband William Roache, who plays Ken Barlow, spoke earlier on in the week about how he went to hospital to see her in her last moments.
"We were expecting her back [on Corrie] in a month or so, until suddenly last Friday we got the call that things were much, much worse."
The actor says she looked "beautiful" on her last visit, despite losing a lot of weight.
Anne's family revealed yesterday (22.01.15) that her private funeral will take place next week.
