Scott Mills is "too nice" to be a judge on 'The X Factor'.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ believes he would be no good appearing on the singing contest's judging panel because he wouldn't be able to cope with rejecting contestants who aren't good enough.
When asked if he's considered taking on such a role, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "No. I think I'm too nice to be a judge. I don't think I'm great at giving criticism because I hate confrontation."
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant recalled one particularly embarrassing moment when he appeared on spin-off show 'The Xtra Factor' and offered some "honest" comments about some contestants, unaware he was to be introduced to them just seconds later.
He explained: "I remember being on 'Xtra Factor' a few years ago and I was quite honest about some of the acts and then they were like, 'And here they are!' And it was literally awful. Why didn't they tell me they were literally through a partition? And they were all watching, so that was super awkward. It's not for me."
But while the 41-year-old broadcaster admitted he hasn't got much faith in his own ability, he is confident his fellow BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw will "bring something fresh" to 'The X Factor' when he joins the judging panel later this year.
Speaking at Kylie Minogue's headline concert at Barclaycard British Summertime in London's Hyde Park, he said: "It's a fun show to do. I think Grimmy will be great at it as well. I think because he'll be honest and bring something fresh to it which I think it needs."
