Olly Murs appeared to confirm he will be returning to The X Factor in the rumoured hosting slot, after reportedly telling fans at a London gig that they'd be seeing him "on the telly" very soon, before crossing his arms in an 'X' sign.

Irish radio stations 98 FM and spin1038 claim that the gesture was made on April 12, and last week saw Murs confirm he had been in talks with Simon Cowell about the potential position.

He stated that Cowell's keen on the idea of both he and Caroline Flack reuniting on the ITV main show after their time co-presenting ITV2's The Xtra Factor.

On the topic of the position, Murs said at the time: "I haven't got it yet. We've spoken about it in the papers but nothing's been finalised or nothing's been signed.

"We've had a few discussions, that's about it really.

"Me and Caroline have obviously spoken about the idea of it, but like I say, it's just an idea at the moment. Nothing's been finalised."
