Last night's elimination episode of The X Factor was a shock to Simon Cowell and indeed viewers at home, when two of the music mogul's acts were sent home.
Bella Penfold was the first to be eliminated after garnering the least amount of public votes, but the real surprise came when it was revealed Shan would be joining Acacia and Aaliyah in the bottom two, for the week's sing-off.
Cowell opted to send the group home, whilst Nile Rodgers - sitting in for Robbie Williams - backed the girls and gave his vote for Shan to go home. Louis Tomlinson said he was going with his "head" rather than his "heart" with his vote, and chose to send Acacia and Aaliyah home, but Ayda Field said she couldn't make the final decision and so sent it back to the public, forcing a deadlock with another vote for Shan to go.
Host Dermot O'Leary then revealed that Shan had received the least amount of votes from the public, leading to visible shock in the studios and even booing from some. Shan had at the start of the live shows been the favourite to win, so it now looks like a clear path to victory for Dalton Harris.
Liverpool's own Anthony Russell has now shot to second favourite in the betting, with odds of 5/1 to take home the win, but Dalton is running away with the competition if the latest odds are to be believed; he's now 1/4 to help mentor Louis Tomlinson grab the crown.
Scarlett Lee could be the dark horse of the competition. She's currently got odds of 8/1 to win, but has seen her popularity increase rapidly in the past few weeks, winning high-profile fans such as former winners, Little Mix.
Ayda still looks to have no chance at bringing her last act Danny Tetley to victory, as he sits with odds of 50/1, and Robbie - who returns this coming weekend following some time in America - has even worse odds with his act A-Star a long shot at 66/1.
