The Olympic sprinter, who was partnered with Ola Jordan on 'Strictly Come Dancing' last night (05.09.15), has reportedly been showering the former 'The Only Way is Essex' beauty with raunchy messages for months, despite the fact he has a girlfriend.
A source said: "Iwan started following Maria on Twitter a year ago, but from June to about two weeks ago he spoke to her almost every day.
"He was a complete flirt. The conversations would begin flirty, then get more sexual, then he would panic, and say he needed to be careful because of his girlfriend.
"But he always said that Maria would be first in line with him if they ever split up.
"He said she was a knockout, and that he'd be there now, with her, in a flash if he was single.
"He'd say that if they were together, no-one would be getting any sleep, and he'd add all of these cheeky emoticons showing hands and bananas.
"Any girlfriend who knew about them or found them would have been livid."
In a selection of the suggestive texts published by The Sun newspaper, he called her his "monkey queen" but insisted he needed to "behave" because of his relationship with his girlfriend, who he reconciled with earlier this year after a short split.
One message sent last month read: "I'm just being a good honest guy, but if I was single would be there now!!! Sweet naughty dreams monkey queen. (sic)"
Another read: "I gotta behave. If my life changed you will be the first to know. I can't help that I'm fit, lol joke. (sic)"
