Saturday 3rd Oct was the seventh day in the celebrity Scissorhands academy. Yet again there was little time to rest, as there was lots of hair to cut and lots more the celebrity trainees to learn, as they begun their first day of the second week.Javine was made assistant manager, when Steve Strange took a day out for a gig in Blackpool, so Lee Stafford, manager at the salon was impressed at Javine’s efforts. In the staffroom , Lee is helping radio producer Aled and actor Ben perfect their scissor and comb technique and takes the opportunity to discover more about Aled’s sexuality. ‘When did you realize you were gay?’ asked Lee. ‘It was when I was producing my first radio show about the theatre and I went down to meet some of the actors, who were gay’ said Aled ‘It was like all the jigsaw pieces fitted together and I thought “this is why I am so confused” ‘I went from 0-100 all in one day!’Trainee Tamara and Javine did there first bikini wax and learnt how to apply crystals to the pubic area to give the client’s boyfriend a sensual surprise. Aled was in for a shock when he encountered breasts for the first time performing a ‘breast firming treatment’ ‘I’m not great with breastage’ confirms Aled ‘I’ve never even kissed a girl, let alone felt a breast...This is going to be the closest I have ever come to them!’ After a nervous start, he soon gets in to the swing of things and likens the treatment to icing a cake ‘A Belgian bun’ he decides.Strictly come dancing stars Brian Capron and Karen Mardy visited the academy for a pedicure from Ben and Brandon. The dancing duo were impressed at the result of there newly groomed feet, giving scores of 10 out of 10. It wasn’t long before they are showing off their own dancing feet on The Academy floor where Lee scores them a stingy 5 out of 10. Ben takes the chance to grab Karen and spin her in to a frenzy and scores a not-much-better 6 out of 10 from Lee. It seemed Dark Vader had been keeping an eye on the celebrities and sent two storm troopers to the academy for a manicure and to polish their elaborate suit. How much for the polish?’ asks Javine ‘Five’ says a Storm Trooper ‘You’re going to have to come better than that mate and dig a little bit deeper in your pockets’ barters Javine ‘We don’t have any pockets’ is the reply. After further bargaining, Javine manages to convince them to stump up £10 for BBC Children In Need and gets on with polishing their suits.Client Andrew raised a stunning £105 for allowing Hollyoaks actress, Carley Stenson to wax his entire back and armpits. He did however say the treatment was as painful as his tattoo’s. Comedienne, Ninia came in to bring Andrew some comedy, singing his favourite songs to take his mind off the wax. Everyone was in the beauty room was in stitches!
