After months of training at up to 20 hours a week, the 13 celebrity skaters were ready for the first spectacular live show. For the first time in the history of Dancing On Ice the boys and girls were split for the first two weeks. This week saw the boys taking to the ice and skate for their place in the competition.
Jayne Torvill opened the show joined by the skating partners and Christopher Dean made a brief appearance on the ice after a recent operation on an arm injury.
After the performance, Chris said: "I still have to be a bit restricted with it, Iâm working hard to get back, Iâm feeling a bit like a kid whoâs not allowed to play with toys at the momentâ¦..Iâm choreographing everything and mentoring the celebrities, keeping them on their toes."
No one wanted to be the first to go but it was Donal MacIntyre and Graham Le Saux who found themselves in the bottom two receiving the least public votes. The judges chose to save Donal MacIntyre.
Graham said "Iâve thoroughly enjoyed it, its short but sweet Iâm going to miss all the other guys weâve built up a real team spirit and I will miss Kristina." Then joked "I still want my training schedule through for next week please!"
Philip Schofield spoke to the girls about how they were feeling about next week, when they will perform.
Soap star, Roxanne Pallett said: "I think thereâs going to be a lot more drama on the ice than in Emmerdale or EastEnders."
"Iâve had such a good time doing this show." Admitted singer Jessica Taylor, "to be honest Iâm so happy to be here and canât wait until next week."
"I can really wait!" Joked Coleen Nolan, "Iâm happy to be here with you. I would be rather be making the tea next week."
