Gemma Bissex and partner Andrei Lipanov
Eastenders actress Gemma Bissix was the second celebrity to leave the competition in Dancing On Ice. Facing the skate off with Melinda Messenger, the judges unanimously chose to save Melinda.
Gemma said: "I’m coming back every week, I think I’m more excited about getting me plus one every week on Dancing On Ice. I’m gutted I just wanted to do another routine."
Melinda and partner Fred Palascak skated to Love Song by Sara Barielles scoring 15.5 out of 30.
Ruthie Henshall said: "Gorgeous is the word of the day for Melinda. I thought you had gorgeous upper body, a gorgeous face... work a bit more on the fluidity. But I thought you were an absolute joy to watch."
Jason Gardiner commented: "First of all please don’t compare me to another show’s inane judge I would never say you look were an ice skating pig because you’re more like an ornamental pooch. You’re heavily assisted by Fred out there and by that I mean when you come out of your lifts they’re very heavy, clumpy landings, you need to turn out your legs, your leg lines are going to let you down. I think overall your presentation needs to be looked at because it is very, very messy."
Ruthie added: "You’re a joy to watch out there, your face and your features."
Gemma and skating partner Andrei Lipanov skated to The Power Of Love by Celine Dion and scored 13 out of 30.
Robin Cousins said: "There are some very nice moments, you have good leg line and you have good turn out.Once Andrei gets you into the air you have some nice air positions. It’s a bit stiff but that actually helps at this point in the competition but just relax through it, the skating was tentative and there was wobbly moments. It was an okay start it wasn’t a good start."
Ruthie added: "You wanted a challenge and you’ve certainly got one. Your determination and drive hopefully will keep you in. You need to work on your nerves become much more solid and grace that’s the word of the day."
Former Liberty X star Jessica Taylor and skating partner Pavel Aubrecht came top of the leaderboard with their performance to La Isla Bonita by Madonna. They scored 21 out of 30.
