It's American Idol - Following last nights vote teenage viewer numbers may be down... Aaron Kelly was sent home.
Because of his youth Aaron Kelly was always a favourite of the judges, even Simon Cowell was always easy on the kid, the fact that he looks about twelve may have had some bearing on that but none the less he always escaped Simons acid tongue. He had just about enough talent to deliver difficult songs and even when he was below par he always squeezed through courtesy of his young fans.
But despite my predictions brought about by the random patterns of voting.... (I concluded Kelly would win and Bowersox would be eliminated) the voting this week was representative of the talent on show. To be fair to Kelly Frank Sinatra tunes that he was expected to sing were old when his grandparents were young, and they were not of his preferred genre country.
It was interesting that the public kept Casey James safe following his Tuesday night mauling from the judges and even guest mentor Harry Connick Jr. said the James was much better in rehearsal.
While Kelly went home, James wasn't even among t
he two lowest vote-getters, as Michael Lynche once again bordered on elimination, not surprising as his rendition was average at best despite Randy going into raptures, next week must see James and Lynche fighting it out for the exit spot.
Guests on the results show Lady Gaga no pants - no shirt, just underwear covered by a black fishnet. Her performance demonstrated just what an individual talent she is as well as her absolute professionalism. For the older viewers who stayed through Lady Gaga’s there was Harry Connick Jr to perform as well who can only be described as the best mentor so far this season.
Next week Crystal Bowersox - Casey James Michael Lynche - Lee Dewyze fight it out for the last three places.
