Following on from last weeks shows the girls are coming over as the more talented than the boys did this continue into this weeks American Idol.
There is no doubt that the most nervous of the group of semi-finalists are the guys as they just cannot wait to get their performances over and done with. This week more pressure was heaped on the them as due to an illness to Crystal Bowersox the show was rescheduled as the producers decided to pull the guys show forward.
First up Alex Lambert he was considerably better than last week but once again the nerves took hold. The judges were all nice to him in the extreme, either because they genuinely like his voice and want him to come back, or because don't want him to get pity votes that keep him on.. It's your call.
Tim Urban is another guy who looks like he’s about to throw up when he took to the stage again he was better this week because he picked a song within his vocal range. Interestingly Ellen DeGeneres suggested he go on "Glee" quiet why I do not know.
Early favorite Lee Dewyze had the jitters though in his case it is unjustified as the judges all love him and his commercial voice. No chance that the judges will let him take a quick exit.
The other issue with the guys this season is stage presence, the only person comfortable on stage so far has been Michael Lynche, other than that maybe Casey James looks the part but is stiff onstage. Aaron Kelly, has that teenage appeal but he still falls short.
Andrew Garcia, looks to be in free fall at the moment seeming to have produced his best at Hollywood week. That’s because the judges can't stop talking about how great it was when he covered Paula Abdul’s "Straight Up," Todrick Hall is becoming a confused bag of nerves following last week to dance less and sing more which he did both this week, only to be told by Randy.. "just sing a nice song and just sing it" rather than tweak the arrangement, But wait Ellen and Kara wanted him to dance more.
The judges didn't like Jermaine Sellers, but couldn't really explain why, So much for giving practical advice. Simon did say he'd go to church with Sellers, and Sellers said that he knew God, so there could be some serious networking going on one of these Sundays.
John Park was branded mostly forgettable, which doesn't bode well for someone who sang so early in the show and needed to get people inspired to stay up another 90 minutes so they could vote.
