“American Idol” First up was the usual opening montage on then Ryan teased the viewers asking who do you think will be going home followed by “... and you won't believe who is going home.”
In contrast to last weeks shocker which saw Casey Abrams finish with the lowest number of votes and then nearly collapse onstage after the judges elected to save him, this time things went to 'form', so basically Idol lied it was easy to predict who was heading for the rubbish chute.
Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia both had been in danger before and neither did well on Wednesday particularly Naima, so it was a certain thing that both these would be in the bottom three. Adedapo tried Elton John as reggae it just did not work while Megia’s vocals were not up to the standard of an Idol finalist. As a result, they ultimately were the two heading home.
What is it with girls and Idol once again it's women exiting early. The first four singers eliminated have been women, thanks to the judges’ use of the save on Abrams last week, if you remember last season Crystal Bowersox was the only female to make it into the final five.
That decision to save Abrams last week meant the judges had no 'save' vote anymore removing the usual should we shouldn't we panel discussion, though it’s doubtful that the judges would have saved either Adedapo or Megia.
Paul McDonald dropped into the bottom three this week, which means he will need to up his game next week. McDonald was in trouble for the first time with Wednesdays performance vocal very reserved, maybe it was a confidence issue but he will need to cut loose next time to get back on track.
