With the announcement of the premiere date of the second season of Orange is the New Black made last week, we've taken a look back at the first 13 episodes which made us fall in love with the series, and had a think about what we'd like to see from the new string of episodes, all released on June 6 through all Netflix territories.

Lorna Morello's story

We know she's engaged, but that her husband-to-be Christopher hasn't visited her for quite some time now, and we're wondering exactly what it was that led to her being sent to prison. It's implied that internet fraud was the reason behind her incarceration, when she lashes out at Carrie 'Boo' Black's remarks about eBay scams, but a little history on this loveable van driver wouldn't go amiss. After all, she was the first inmate Piper met, (besides her ex-girlfriend Alex).

Mr Healy get his comeuppance

He's creepy beyond words, and the fact he stood and did nothing when Piper's life was in danger means he's more twisted than any of us thought possible. His Ukranian mail-order bride would probably fare better if he wasn't around, and would take a nice slice of his fortune - if he has any fortune left. The story of Piper's revenge would be fascinating.

What happens to Alex

There have been reports that Piper's ex-girlfriend Alex won't be returning to the show in a major role and instead will simply wrap up her storyline and be written out completely. This could mean only two things from my point of view - Alex dies, or Alex is moved to another prison. I'm hoping for the latter, because the revival of her character later on in the series could prove to be something special.

Tiffany let up on Piper

One character that I cannot relate to on any level and who actually annoys me is Tiffany, and her obsession with taking Piper down has already gotten old. After being let out of 'psych' because Piper confessed she tricked her into getting sent there, she decided she'd try and become best friends with Piper, but Piper's atheist views caused one massive need for revenge from the Jesus-loving inmate, who had murder on the brain. Now that she's been beaten to a pulp by 'blondie', we're hoping she focuses her attention elsewhere.

Tasha 'Taystee' Jefferson's friendship with Poussey

Not only do we want to see this duo get more screentime (now confirmed by the fact they've been upgraded to season two regulars), but we want to hear more about their past. They're some of the most exciting and likeable characters in the show and development so we can get to know them even more than we already think we do would be fantastic.

Miss Claudette's next move

The last season saw inmates discussing how Miss Claudette will never be getting out of 'seg' after attacking a prison officer, but as one of the characters who we can never fully read or understand, we're hoping development will be made on her story, though it may now have nowhere else to go.

Larry's future

He's finished with Piper and we can't see them getting back together anytime soon, especially since she'll likely be getting more time after beating seven shades of black out of Tiffany, but we don't want him forgotten about altogether. With his career really taking off, it'll be interesting to see if we get to see where fate takes him next, and how his relationships with Piper's friends and family may change - if at all.

Red reclaim power of the kitchen

Red was first introduced as a character not many of us liked, after she decided to starve Piper for her rude remarks about the prison food, but her motherly instinct has grown on everybody watching the show, and her loss of power from the kitchen because of 'Pornstache' and his stash of drugs hit hard. Gloria's now in control of the food and is taking her revenge on Red - who tried to sabotage her - by turning the tables on her and refusing to serve her food. Despite her ill-judged efforts, the kitchen won't be the same without Red, so I'm hoping for a return that will keep both her and Gloria happy in the near-future.

Officer George 'Pornstache' Mendez's past revealed

He's quite obviously psychotic, and somewhat unluckily for Daya, is now in love with an inmate, but there's still something that I can't quite put my finger on with Mendez. Underneath everything, if you strip away all the bad, there must be something that led to this monster of a human being, and I want to see that explored. His past would most likely be painted with all sorts of troubles, and they would be great to see played out on-screen - plus, he'll be returning to officer duty very soon - just how will Daya cope when he realises she's pregnant?

Orange is the New Black returns on June 6, when all 13 episodes of the new season will be available on Netflix in all territories.
