The people behind casting on both Arrow and The Flash have now joined one of CBS' latest projects Supergirl, looking out for two of the leading ladies that they're hoping will make it to television screens in the near future.

For Kara Danvers, AKA Kara Zor-El, Caucasian females aged between 22 and 26 are being eyed, to play a 24-year-old Kara. Comic book lore has shown how Kara was sent at age 12 from her dying home planet of Krypton to Earth, taken in by foster family 'the Danvers', and taught to be careful with her extraordinary powers.

Repressing her skills for over 10 years, Kara is then forced to help save the city during an unexpected disaster and goes on to embrace the abilities that make her a hero in her city.

The second lead role being cast is 26-year-old Alexandra Danvers, Kara's science-minded foster sister who's been partly jealous, but also fascinated by Kara's abilities.

This encourages Alex to go on and discover as much as she can about culture, sociology and alien anthropology, now working for a secret government organisation which will throw many challenges her way.

Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow) have written the Supergirl pilot, and both are to executive produce the series alongside Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Productions' Sarah Schechter.
