Stephen Mulhern is set to front a new ITV quiz show.
The TV presenter - who hosts ‘Rolling In It', 'In For a Penny’, and ‘Catchphrase' - is said to be in line to head up a new programme titled ‘TV Winners’, in which telly addicts will be quizzed on their knowledge of the small screen.
A TV insider told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: “Stephen is really well respected at ITV and has very much become one of the faces of their light entertainment offering.
“He’s been in the business for almost 25 years and knows so many of the stars he’s climbed up the ranks alongside.
“More importantly, he is viewed as a safe pair of hands when it comes to fronting shows.
“And with the gameshow format, which requires personality as well as skills to steer a programme, he really seems to have found his niche.
“In particular, bosses were impressed by him presenting The Big Soap Quiz on ITV, which made them realise how good he’d be in a similar role, full-time.”
‘TV Winners’, which is in the pilot stage of production, is expected to channel ‘Telly Addicts’, a game show hosted by Noel Edmonds which aired on the BBC between 1985 and 1998.
It's said 'TV Winners' could even feature an entire episode dedicated to questions about Stephen's career.
He got his big break on TV co-hosting CITV’s ‘Finger Tips’ alongside Fearne Cotton from 2001 to 2003, and later with Naomi Wilkinson in 2004, before going on to host children's show 'Tricky TV' from 2005 to 2010.
