Stacey Dooley has hit back at Twitter trolls after she received "cruel comments" about her new TV show.
The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' champion questioned why people on the micro blogging site are "so unkind" at times, after she was hit with some hurtful messages about her new programme, 'This Is MY House'.
Stacey wrote: "Reading some of the unnecessarily cruel comments re my new gig.
"I got the same criticism doing strictly and Glow up.
"I did well on strictly and Glow up went on to be a global series, that was recommissioned and Netflix took.
"I don’t know why this platform is so unkind.. (sic)"
Stacey retweeted the BBC's release about her new show - in which four people walk into a home and say, 'This is my house', but only one of them is telling the truth - but it was met with disapproval by some Twitter users.
One wrote: "And I pay a licence fee for this? Seriously?"
Another posted: "This sounds SOUL CRUSHINGLY awful. (sic)"
And one shared: "What a simply dreadful idea in every aspect: presenter, concept, the lot. (sic)"
However, Stacey was inundated with kinder messages after hitting back at the trolls earlier today (21.10.20).
'EastEnders' actress Shona McGarty - who plays Whitney Dean on the BBC One soap - tweeted: "I hate hearing this. Your amazing Stacey. Your the most brave woman ever! Forget those comments. Keep doing you girl x (sic)"
'BBC Breakfast' presenter Dan Walker posted: "This is why I feel twitter - for all the positives - will eventually die. What are the benefits of allowing people into your life to shout at you & tell you you’re rubbish?
"You’re not Stace... you’re great and the overwhelming majority of non-pubes will wish you the best Thumbs up (sic)"
TV presenter Katie Piper wrote: "People projecting so much negativity which in turn breeds more unhappiness into their own life. I love the passion and skill you put Into everything you do. I re watched all of your docs in lockdown some for the 3rd time! (sic)"
