Stacey Dooley felt “super comfy” during her visit to an American brothel.
The 37-year-old TV star, who has fronted a string of hard-hitting documentaries since beginning her career in 2008, stayed in America’s only legal brothel - the Mustang Ranch in Nevada - for the second series of her UKTV show ‘Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA’, and has insisted she enjoyed her stay.
She told Metro newspaper's SixtySeconds column: “I love a brothel - I felt super comfy.
“The madams were sweethearts and very transparent and proud about what they do for a living.
“It’s completely legal in Nevada and I don’t understand why all the states don’t adopt that same approach. That occupation is always going to exist, so why not keep the girls safe and allow them to contribute financially to society.
“Condoms are mandatory and they’ve got panic buttons. It felt like a no-brainer.”
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champion then explained that sleeping over in the brothel meant she was able to find “common ground” with the women, even if there are “things she fundamentally disagrees with”.
She said: “You’re able to find common ground, almost always, even if there are things you fundamentally disagree with.
“I think it’s super healthy and makes you challenge what you do think you believe.”
However, the brothel experience wasn’t all positive, as Stacey admitted she wished she had “brought some ear plugs” considering she could hear the “madams” at work all night long.
She told The Sun newspaper: “The sole purpose of this room is to service the client. I’ve got girls either side of me, that’s the only thing. I should’ve brought some earplugs!”
Once she had met the workers, including Missy, the documentarian revealed she could “hear everything” through the walls and emphasised the women “must be absolutely exhausted” after hearing them work throughout the night.
She said: “You could hear everything! Missy was right next door, and she was such a sweetheart.
“She had one night where she had one after the other, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, this girl must be absolutely exhausted.’”
