Paul O'Grady has retired Lily Savage.
The 66-year-old star has confirmed he's got no plans to revive his drag queen persona and insisted he'd rather focus on the fond memories" of his alter ego.
He's quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "It was like a circus parade every time I went out the house.
"I prefer to leave Lily where she is. I'd rather just have fond memories of the old girl."
However, Paul admitted Lily will likely be his legacy, which he isn't "bothered" by.
He added: "I remember Diana Rigg saying to me, 'When you die, it will always be, 'Lily Savage star Paul O'Grady'.
"I said, 'You'll have 'Ex-Avenger girl Diana Rigg'. I was right. She's probably going to be right as well. Not that I'm bothered."
In the past, Paul has also been critical about 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and insisted Lily wouldn't appear on the UK version.
In 2017, he said: "No, I can’t bear it. No really I can’t. That’s not drag! It’s all about shading and contouring your face now and being like supermodels.
“In my day we had the likes of Phil Starr, who was a glorious comedian… we had Marc Fleming, Auntie Flo, Mrs Shufflewick.
"We had great comedians in drag. This new brigade who just parade around going, sashay, shantay – that’s not drag to me.”
However, he will be back on ITV later this year with "dirty" talk show 'Paul O'Grady: Saturday Night Line-Up'.
During filming for an untelevised pilot two years ago, Paul took a swipe at the channel's other presenters as he laughed: "This will never get to a series.
“It’s the dirtiest show that is possible on telly. It is too rude. But they want a bit of rudeness now.
“I mean who the f*** wants to watch Alan Titchmarsh? You know what they are like at ITV, they are a bit leg-crossed aren’t they? Phil and Holly – the pair who p*** themselves if somebody says ‘bum.' ”
