The classic game show - which sees two contestants match the answers of as many of the six celebrity panellists as possible on fill-in-the-blank statements - had been hosted during its initial run by both Terry Wogan and then Les Dawson from 1979 until 1990 before being briefly revived by Paul O'Grady as drag alter-ego Lily Savage in 2001 but 'The Chase' star Bradley Walsh took over for the most recent comeback in 2021, and it has now been revealed confirmed that the programme will run for a fourth and fifth series.
Speaking on the recommission, Bradley said: “I tell you what, there isn’t a show quite like 'Blankety Blank' – it’s absolutely brilliant fun from start to finish.
"The celebrities will come up to me after a record and tell me how much fun they had filming, but more importantly, so do the contestants. These wonderful people come on to the show wanting a great experience and boy do they get it – because let’s be honest, they’re not there for the prizes are they?!”
Some of the most recent celebrity contestants to take part in the series include 'Dancing on Ice' judge Oti Mabuse, 'This Morning' stars Eamonn Holmes, Josie Gibson, and Alison Hammond and 'Loose Women' panellist Judi Love.
Series four and five of the revival - which will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer - will both feature 10 episodes and applications for members of the public to take part are now open.
