Olly Murs says he would have applied for Love Island if he hadn't found stardom via The X Factor.
The 36-year-old singer shot to fame after he finished second on the talent competition in 2009, but if his singing career hadn't worked out then he would have loved to have taken part in the ITV2 dating show.
Speaking on former Geordie Shore star and I'm A Celebrity champion Vicky Pattison's The Secret To podcast, Olly said: "Of course I would have loved to go on Love Island. If I had never got famous I would have given Love Island a go, 100 per cent.
"Me and my mates always talk about, 'We would have done this, we would have done that'. I love watching it."
The Heart Skips a Beat hitmaker - who started dating girlfriend Amelia Tank in 2019 - spends "weeks" watching the reality show, but really believes he would've had a good chance at winning the programme.
He added: "Me and my mate spent weeks watching Love Island and me and Amelia [Tank] had just started seeing each other.
"We watched Love Island every night. If we were in Love Island we would have cleaned up, I would have won this."
Olly was of course close friends with the late Caroline Flack, who presented Love Island from 2015 to 2019.
The pair hosted The X Factor together in 2015, replacing Dermot O'Leary, but were there for just a single year. Despite that, working so closely together created an unbreakable bond.
